Good Food Jobs

Good Food Jobs has been helping foodies find meaningful work in the food industry since 2010.  Extending beyond food service and cooking, their job listings include other opportunities in the food movement with farmers, artisans, policy makers, startups, retailers, media and more. The use of an overlapping milk bottle, wine bottle and mason jar in their logo speaks to their vast range and dedication to smaller ventures. The typeface has an imperfect, hand stamped quality that reflects their focus on people and the human connection of working in food. Business cards were beautifully letterpressed into a double thick board stock for the final touch.

Prior to launching, I designed a holding page that featured a skyline made of bottles and jars. It created a world of food reminiscent of the founders' own Brooklyn neighborhood. The final site utilized generous white space, high contrast color and flat graphics to keep the UX uncluttered and focused on the search tools and results. I also created a logo and masthead for their blog, the gastrognomes, where they share inspiring stories of other unlikely food professionals that found their "good food job." The logo depicts the two founders playfully interacting with the logotype and as nod to this space where they interact with their readers and the larger food community.
