Homemade Funfetti cake!
Francesco Tonelli was gracious enough to share his olive oil cake recipe with me. Made the kumquat jam too, but cheated on the chocolate sauce. Hope I did it justice!
Using holiday hosting as an excuse to “up my cheese board game.”
Finally got around to making a painting I’ve been planning for awhile. It’s a fun colorful piece inspired by all our names and the places we’ve lived.
Homemade Mediterranean feast: roasted beet salad, herbed chickpeas, and lamb meatballs with cilantro-mint yogurt. Plus an assortment of Turkish dips and pide bread carried home from Queens.
Chalk mural in the office before the March for Our Lives. Successful first time using transfer paper, but next time I would make the whole thing BIGGER!
Newly designed logo turned into a cookie! Small way to thank our amazing team for another successful site launch.
Not my best pre-school valentine, but for only using what I had in the house, it's not bad.
The salted butter chocolate chip cookie that took the internet by storm! I actually prefer it without the final egg wash and raw sugar coating. These are not the kind of cookie to eat right out of the oven, but they sure do keep beautifully for days after baking. Adding it to the arsenal.
When we were living in Naples, my husband found this green bottle on the street. We've carried it around for years till I finally turned it into a lamp by salvaging parts from an old lamp we didn't want anymore. Started flickering recently, so hoping a little re-wiring will do the trick.
Rain forced me to put the last coats on inside.
We snagged this solid oak breakfast set on Craigslist a couple years ago. It was great deal cause it was caked in decades of gunk (which we then proceeded to use, as-is, for said couple of years). Using some of maternity leave to strip it down and restore it to its natural color.
After a couple jars exploded last year, I swore I would never make jam again. But after eating it all year, I can't go back to store bought. So here we go...
New sourdough achievement: HEIGHT!
Easter brunch: two quiches, lemony kale salad, kielbasa and hot cross buns.
Tried slashing the top of the sourdough this time. Not bad.
Valentine's for pre-school. Valentine's for the office. Had to make a custom cardboard cutter for that heart, but these Linzer cookies (and my teammates) are worth the effort.
Technically my mom made this feast. But it's still “Chanmade” and too amazing not to post. Gung hay fat choy!
Buttons for the Women's March
Rocket man and his tiny astronaut. Oh, the wonders of what you can make with cardboard, duct tape, foil, and some hot glue.
Worked with my mom to make this custom cape using remnants around the house. He's working it. ;)
My quest for my perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe is over. And I had it the WHOLE TIME! Silver Palate, I bow down to you and your infinite wisdom. Thank you for giving me these gems with crunchy edges and chewy centers.
Full ghostbuster squad at work. Equipped with homemade proton packs.
He asked to be a spooky ghost. He's lucky my mom can sew and I'm a whiz at shredding cheesecloth.
Sourdough attempt. Got gnarly on the top. :(

If I lived alone, I would eat bruschetta for dinner. A lot.

Heart-shaped pancakes for my little valentines.
Pre-school valentines
Chili cheese dogs and chili cheese covered Scrabble tiles.
Homemade nachos!
J and Dad both pick the same cakes for their birthday. Chocolate devil's food cake with cream cheese frosting.
A personal crowning achievement of crafting. Four custom handmade stockings using up-cycled sweaters and other unwanted clothes.
Cheddar mashed potato waffles. Best use of leftover mashed potatoes ever.
Golden crispy latkes...
Signature french apple tart. Make an extra for mom to take to grandparents.
If Thomas survives, I got requests to hand him down. Some of my best cardboard crafting yet.
Bubbling custard!
Must be Superbowl. I have no idea who's playing, but any excuse to make (and eat) wings is ok by me.
Putting the CHAN in CHAN-NUKAH
This year we went with GOLD!
